Sons Of Eden Stauros Old Vine Barossa Valley Mourvedre

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Only 100 dozen made, yet has a one-off ceramic baked label (front and back); the wine comes from a single 80-year-old vineyard yielding less than 1 tonne per acre. I've never heard of a rotating oak barrel fermenter, but it was used here, before a conventional 20-month maturation in a single cask. Worth it? Absolutely, for this is a mourvedre with fine structure, ripe but not overripe flavour, and a long, almost silky, finish.
