James Halliday says
Abundant flavour from the quality base wine, but, as yet, relatively little complexity; bottle age will help.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh says
The unusual thing about this wine is that it's from the Eden Valley - there aren't a lot of 100 per cent Eden Valley sparkling reds around. By the taste of this, there should be. There isn't a jot wrong with this. It's smooth and flavoursome, plummy and sweet, its highlights of violets and raspberry making for one very yummy drink. It's mostly shiraz, with a small amount of cabernet; indeed, there is a dusty, herbal twang to it - a very positive thing, as it turns out. Drying tannin. Sweet fruit. Bang on the money.

Tyson Stelzer says
The full-throttle concentration and intensity of seventy-year-old Eden Valley shiraz vines is on parade here, layered with deep black plums, black pastilles, liquorice, dark choc oak and even a slice of Barossa mettwurst. A creamy bead, fine, supple tannins and slightly sweet finish make for brilliant value.
