Dark in the glass, this is certainly one of the best modern Australian examples of durif on the market. Deep cassis and dark, blackcurrant fruit aromas, some blackberry jam and hints of dried dates and prunes. The palate's full soft and juicy, with a long and strapping roll of soft, ripe tannin carrying plum and dark-chocolate flavour solid through the finish. Soft enough to drink now, it will develop some savoury complexity in the medium term.

Saturated purple; luscious, intense and rich; very good example of the variety, which will always transcend the winemaker's influence if it is well-grown. Durif.

Seems that whatever they turn their hand to the results are stunning; this is Spinifex's take on durif - made in tiny quantity. Plenty of spice and pepper, some roasted meats, rich ripe berry fruits and plush richness. The palate has really dense fruit flavour, dark berries and soft swirling tannins, a surprising spear of acid, finishing intense and long. Really opulent. Limited production.
