This wine has been made for Cellarmasters by Grant Burge and celebrates some of his ancestors. It is made from Barossa Valley grapes and was partially barrel fermented and matured in new American oak. While this deep, vibrant red won't appeal to everyone—for some it will appear a bit chippy (read too oaky) and a bit heavy on the tannins—it does have plummy vanillin oak aromas, succulent ripe blackberry and dark plum flavours and is quite mellow. For those who like their oak heavy, it'll be a treat especially with a hearty T-bone steak, a concentrated red wine sauce and chips— with a healthy green salad to follow.
