St Hallett Semillon Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Medium yellow-green; the solid, clean bouquet ranges through grass to tropical fruit aromas, and there is plenty of gently sweet fruit flavour and depth to the palate. Honest style.

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. Medium yellow-green; a solid, quite ripe bouquet with citrus running into tropical fruit, then a similarly honest, medium-bodied but full-flavoured palate making for easy drinking.

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (2001 Vintage) says
You wouldn't normally associate the warm Barossa Valley (where St Hallett is located) with delicate, aromatic white wines but this is an absolute star: green-tinged, very pale, with really pungent, crisp, perfumed, lifted, sweet limey flavours and the most wonderful, juicy, tangy flavour. The secret, of course, is sourcing fruit from other, cooler regions such as the Eden Valley, and keeping the fermentation in stainless steel tanks extra cool. Great value for a very classy wine.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; a clean, fresh, light herbal bouquet and a fresh, lively tangy palate, with good length, all attest to early bottling (and early consumption).
