Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The 2002 vintage is the best wine I've tasted lately from this long-established Canterbury producer. Made from Pinot Blanc grapes, harvested at an ultra-ripe 27 brix (the highest sugar content since planting 22 years ago), with some noble rot, it was matured on its year lees for six months, but not oak-aged. Softly mouthfilling, with lovely richness of peachy, slightly spicy and honeyed flavour, gentle acidity and a medium-sweet finish, it has an Alsacelike weight and sttucture, and is already a delicious mouthful.
