Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1996 Vintage) says
Hawke's Bay winemaker Alan Limmer aims for a "restrained style of (Chardonnay which ages well". The '95 is a full-bodied wine with a rich, oaky bouquet and impressive depth of ripe, mealy, slightly woody flavour. The more finely balanced 1996 vintage was fermented in French oak barriques and matured on its yeast lees for 10 months. Already delicious, it's a notably mouth filling, rich and savoury wine with very ripe fruit shining through its concentrated, lush, citrusy, nutty flavours, finishing long and soft.
