Stonecroft Crofters Red Blend

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper says
The Hawke's Bay winery's lower-priced red is made from fruit off young vines, together with wine which, at blending, winemaker Alan Limmer prefers to omit from his top Ruhanui label. Each release is numbered rather than vintage-dated. Crofters VI is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58 per cent), Merlot (28 per cent) and Syrah (14 per cent), mostly from the 2002 vintage, matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. It's a full-coloured wine with spice and herb aromas and plenty of firm, peppery, nutty flavour.
