Stonier Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This is something of an icon these days, with its popularity seemingly undented by years of the ABC movement. So how has it maintained it's appeal you ask? Intensity and value. For it's relative price this carries shedloads of flavour yet without falling over into obviousness, making for a Chardonnay with the lot that retains some elegance.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Pale straw.

Nose: An abundance of citrus, with hints of grapefruit and spice.

Palate: Tight in the first three months post bottling, but the intensity, with line and length is very apparent. There are hints of sweet citrus, but the driving force of flavour is a lovely lemon-rind concentration, balanced by sorbet- like lifted oak. The barrel ferment and lees ageing adds nice dimension to a very long and persistent finish.

Alcohol: 13.5%
