James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
A 80/9/9/2% blend of shiraz, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The colour is deep but bright; the fruit flavours are (happily) led by the black fruits of the shiraz, with a touch of red berries on the finish courtesy of the other varieties; oak and tannins are at the upper limit, and the wine will repay long-term cellaring.

Tyson Stelzer (2009 Vintage) says
Rustic, raw and authentic, concentration meets structure in this spicy style layered with plum pudding, mixed spice, violets and paprika. Firm, fine tannins and dark choc oak contribute angle and direction.

Generously endowed, but not extractive; the luscious fruits are ripe, the alcohol an inevitable partner, but it works.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
The medium-bodied blend of Merlot/Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc works well, with gentle cassis and red berry fruits and a slightly savoury twist to the finish.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
The most conventionally balanced and structured of all the Summerfield wines; you don't have to draw up your courage to take a mouthful (or a glass) or even 2. No shortage of flavour or mouthfeel. A roughly equal blend of Shiraz/Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/

Medium red-purple; a medium-bodied array of predominantly red fruits with some foresty/savoury edges. Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc/ Merlot/Shiraz.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Medium-bodied; gently savoury, spicy, earthy edges to soft red fruits. Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz/Merlot. How on earth did it win a double gold at the Sydney International Winemakers Competition?
