T’Gallant Crown Seal Moscato

Cracka Review

This is a wine which shows our love for Italian Moscatos. The TG Pink Moscato is an Australian twist on the moscatos found throughout Italy. With lifted aromas of blossom, musk and spice, the frizzante style palate echoes these sensations, creating a refreshing, fruity wine experience. Moscato is the Italian word for Muscat and is a light, sightly sparkling wine known for its fresh fruit flavours. These fresh flavours are directly attributable to the winemaking process and are an essential element of the wine.

Regan Drew (2011 Vintage) says
"Lost is all the time no spent in love" is the quotation that graces the front of this romantic, cursive and remarkably adult Moscato bottle. Low in alcohol, Moscato is often referred to as Tart Fuel and more than it's fair share has been consumed by ladies of certain ages. However, the wine can stil be grown up and have a serious side as this example shows. A nose filled with red-gum honey, lavender blossoms and herbs, the mouthfeel has a light spritz/frizzante finshing with clean sweet, but not cloying strawberry. At 5%, the danger of finishing the bottle before you realise can probably mean you can still drive home post-Tennis afternoon tea.

Very smart packaging; pink fizz in strawberry and lemon flavours just fun; serve very cold.

Italy and Queensland come together in the Mornington Peninsula. The winemakers behind this label, Kath and Kev (almost a sitcom there), never forgot time spent in Queensland packing muscat grapes and the wonderful aromas that filled the shed. So they have made this Italian-style wine from Peninsula muscat grapes. It is light, low-alcohol, slightly fizzy, enchantingly aromatic and a joy to drink.
