Talinga Park Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

OK, while New Zealand might make some damn fine Sauvignon Blanc, when it comes to the under $15 territory, I shy well away because the vast majority is hard to swallow. Which brings me to our friends at Nugan Estate with their Talinga Park Savvy. Fresh, vibrant, tropical and citrus fruits finishing clean and pure. The kind of Savvy that is guaranteed to hit the spot.

Winemaker's Notes

Carefully selected parcels of Sauvignon Blanc from the King Valley and Riverina where whole bunch pressed, clarified and fermented with an aromatic yeast at cool temperatures to retain the delicate natural aromas and flavours.

Pale straw in appearance with green tints. Fresh citrus and vibrant tropical fruit aromas combined with mineral notes. A crisp and zesty fruit driven palate with flavours of lemon and lime with a touch of passionfruit with a crisp lingering finish.

This fresh white wine is the perfect partner to many styles of modern Australian food as well as being a fantastic pre-dinner drink.

Alcohol: 12.5%

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
This is a bargain, expressing clear varietal character throughout, in a thoroughly welcoming fashion; tropical fruits are followed by a deliberate touch of sweetness on the finish.

Nugan Estate's third label sources fruit from the Riverina and delivers terrific bargains. This is soft and round, has restrained flavours, good viscosity and is pleasant drinking

What it lacks in varietal character, it makes up for in freshness, cleanliness and vitality.
