Tallis isn't in one of the more established winegrowing regions, though it isn't far from either the Nagambie Lakes region or the Strathbogie Ranges. When you drive through Dookie Hills, though, it's pretty obvious: this is a very good area to grow wine grapes. It becomes a bit too dry and gamey as you swallow it but until then, it's a delightful red to drink. Reckon a lot of people will enjoy this. It tastes of plums, mocha, spice and earth and for the most part has a terrific juiciness to it. Not unlike an old Tahbilk shiraz.
