Tamburlaine Wine Lovers Malbec

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Malbec from Orange? Yes, that’s correct. This sexy Latin variety is starting to find a home in Australia both in warm and cool climates. Organic trailblazers Tamburlaine have hit their straps with this release and it’s the kind of wine that pairs well with thick cuts of meat. It’s laden with red fruits and spice aromas as well as a cedar complexity. The palate is awash with juicy, red fruits before the trademark spice kicks in and finishes soft and long.

Winemaker's Notes

The Malbec grape ripens mid-season and can bring very deep colour, ample tannin, and a plum-like flavor component which adds complexity. Although not widely planted in Australia, this classic variety produces exceptional wines in the Orange Wine Region.

Bouquet: The rich aromas are of mulberries, raspberries and cedar wood.

Palate: The palate shows integrated primary fruit flavours, including blueberries, and redcurrants. Some spiciness adds complexity to the wine and it has a soft lingering finish.

Food Match: This wine is a perfect accompaniment to beef and lamb dishes. It is also always a “hit” at a BBQ.
