Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (1999 Vintage) says
Vina Tarapaca Ex Zalava (established 1874) now sells more than a million cases a year thanks to dramatic expansion in the 1990s made possible by a huge cash injection from the Chilean forestry company, Fosforos. This medium-bodied Maipo Valley cabernet is restrained on the nose, has plummy, red berry fruit flavours, a tightish structure and quite firm tannins. Better with food, say, something with red wine sauce— coq au vin or beef burgundy. Available from Vintage Cellars.
