Launched from the 1997 vintage this is a rich and stylish Hawke's Bay wine. It was fully fermented and matured for 10 months in new and seasoned French oak casks, and given a softening malolactic fermentation. A big, firm, savoury wine, powerful, complex and notably harmonious, it displays excellent depth of citrusy, mealy, biscuity flavour and a crisp, rich finish. Very satisfying drinking from now on.
