Te Hera Estate Martinborough Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
First planted in 1996. Te Hera ('The Sail') Estate was the first commercial vineyard founded in the Te Muna Road district, a few kilometres south of Martinborough. The 2003 vintage has deep, youthful colour and strong plum/cherry flavours, delicately seasoned with toasty oak. Vibrantly fruity and supple, it shows some elegance and potential; open 2006+.

Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
First planted in 1996, Te Hera ('The Sail') Estate was the first commercial vineyard founded in the Te Muna Road district, a few kilometres south of Martinborough. The debut 2001 vintage matured for a year in French oak barriques (one-third new), is still purple-flushed, with berryish aromas. Still youthful, it has strong cherry and plum flavours, but lacks real complexity and warmth, with a slightly high-acid finish.
