Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
The distinctive 2003 vintage was hand-picked in Martinborough at 36. 4 brix, with 80 per cent botrytis infection of the berries, and fermented in barrels until it reached 13. 5 per cent alcohol, leaving 140 grams per litre of residual sugar. Tight lemon/green, it has gentle pear and honey aromas and a soft, weighty and rich palate. The wood influence adds complexity, but also subdues the fruit flavours. It's a different style, worth cellaring.
