The LZ is the absolute 'get on' value wine in the Telmo Rodriguez range. Made in the 'Joven' style (which means young and low-oak usage, if any), it displays youthful, primal smells of raspberries, black cherries and earthiness on the nose. The palate is more medium-bodied and brightly fruited, with red berry and dried herb flavours, smooth tannins, and a dry, soft finish. It's made to drink over a 3-5 year term, and would be great with some nachos.
A jam-packed cranberry+field herb nose (red lavender anyone?) is perfectly struck - fresh fruit and earth, lift and depth ... The palate is perfumed, ovoid, lissom, and really harmonious - built beautifully on Telmo's trademark natural fruit tannin-acid twin-track. Juicy and deft, it's not just good and typical, nor merely delicious ... this is spectacular wine for the $$. Spain's Greatest Pizza Wine just climbed a higher rung.
