The delicious 2009 vintage is a single-vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, hand-picked on the south side of the Wairau Valley at 24.6 brix and fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak puncheons. Barrel-aged for nearly a year, it's a 'serious', full-bodied wine with fresh, concentrated flavours of tropical fruits and nuts, showing notable richness and complexity. A powerful wine with a strong presence, it should mature well.
