T'Gallant Grace Pinot Grigio

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

There’s one name to blame for the success of Pinot Gris and Grigio and that’s T’Gallant as they were responsible for the first commercial release in Australia 20 years ago. This vintage maintains the pure and crisp vitality we expect from this Mornington classic. It exudes pure pear aromatics with hints of fresh gooseberry and flint. The palate is crisp and refreshing with great balance and length. Drink on its own, or with crispy whitebait.

Winemaker's Notes

A bright straw colour in the glass, the Grace Pinot Grigio has freshly cut orchard fruits of Fuji Apple, lavender and nuts, with underlying citrus and mineral nuances. The palate continues with apple and spiced pears, herbs and crunchy, crisp acidity creating texture and length. Subtle and cleansing on the palate, Grace Pinot Grigio is ideal partnered with food.

Grace is named after the daughter of the previous General Manager at T’Gallant. Harvested from five vineyards located on the peninsula's coastal plain, all with shallow pale clay or sand soils. These parcels are blended with the wine made from T’Gallant’s "Car Park" block. This parcel of wine is like pure pear juice. Australia’s benchmark Pinot Grigio — fresh, flinty, oyster shell, delicate gooseberry... lovely length with a dollop of pear.
