The Lake House Denmark Premium Block Selection Semillon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

A 'premium block selection', this crisp and very very well defined white is so well chiselled it defies belief. You can see every angle, every edge perfectly, the wine having rippling abs and a perfectly contoured bicep. Or the like. Suffice to say it is pretty good SSB...

Winemaker's Notes

A vibrant, cool climate blend displaying flinty, gooseberry aromas with underlying hints of fresh grass and tropical fruits. Initial flavours of green apple lead to a mid-palate of grapefruit and quince with hints of passionfruit, followed by a long, crisp lemon and lime finish. Deliciously appealing.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Savoury, meaty aromas and a sweet fruit palate with light and lively acidity.
WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011)
James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
The back label offers flinty gooseberry, fresh grass, tropical fruits, green apple, grapefruit, quince, passionfruit, lemon and lime; while I can't compete with that, this is delicious, with perfectly ripened fruit balancing grass, citrus and gentle tropical notes in a seamless flow and a long, lingering finish.
Australian Wine Companion 2012
Ray Jordan (2010 Vintage) says
This is a blended white that shows a healthy degree of complexity and interest on both the nose and palate. There's plenty of tropical fruit with a trace of grassy edges and cru7nchy passionfruit. A little twist of citrus into the palate adds a neat lift. It's both textural and lively with a long finish. Nice current drinking wine.
