The Little Wine Company Tempranillo
A little bit of love goes into every wine released by the Little Wine Company. This Hunter husband and wife winemaking duo often play around with varieties seldom seen in the Hunter Valley, though this little Latin grape is showing plenty of potential in the region. An early ripening grape this red shows both power and restraint. An evocative nose of redcurrants with a smoky complexity as hints of tobacco before a textured mouthful of cherry and licorice and a well proportioned tannin profile.
Our 2011 Tempranillo shows vibrant red currant fruit aromas with some complex characters of green olive, spice and a hint of tobacco. The palate has a beautiful silky texture with flavours of liquorice and sour cherry fruits. The smoky oak flavours and fine, savoury tannins make this wine an excellent match with antipasto, duck and mature cheese. Enjoy now or cellar for up to four years.
