We miss mixed tapes here at Cracka. Sure, everyone has a Spotify playlist now but it's just not the same. Though no one misses rewinding cassettes... Anyway, we're instead just mixing up wines. Less tunes, more vino. And this case? Chock full of delights like a gold medal winner, French sparkling and a 92 point Merlot.
This mixed case includes: 2x NV Veuve Elise Blanc de Blancs - Citrus notes and white stone fruits permeate this wine, concluding in a nice crisp dry finish.
2x 2009 Madeleines Hidden Talent Fleurieu Chardonnay - Medium green straw appearance. Slightly nutty developed aromas, aged sweet varietal fruit flavours of white peach, creamy soft palate (90 points - Tony Keys).
2x 2013 Geoff Merrill South Australian Sauvignon Blanc - This Sauvignon Blanc delivers fresh tropical fruits with hints of citrus peel, lime and grapefruit which continue onto a full flavoured palate and a refreshing finish.
2x 2013 Willandra Leeton Cabernet Sauvignon - Savoury character to the nose with cherry and liquorice hints. Firm velvety structure on the palate, which will soften with age (Gold medal winner).
2x 2015 Sacredtree by Gemtree Select Vines Shiraz - This Shiraz made by McLaren Vale producer Gemtree Wines is a rich, plump and full-flavoured Shiraz that showcases all that is great in McLaren Vale.
2x 2015 Tahbilk One Million Cuttings Merlot - Aromas of rich blueberry and dark chocolate with a hint of spice. The soft and supple palate has smooth fruit flavours of blackberries and ripe plums, rounded with fine grained tannins (92 points - Sam Kim).
