The Ned Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Ned is situated in some of the most dramatic landscape in Marlborough, New Zealand. Winemaker Brent Marris knew this special place was where he wanted to craft wines that spoke of place. If you love the vibrancy of Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, you’ll be in for a treat with this release. Aromas of lime and herb on the nose before a palate of lime, and capsicum before crunchy citrus acids punch through the long finish. A quality wine to pair with Asian style stir frys and curries.

Winemaker's Notes

Colour: Pale straw with a light green hue.

Aroma: Pure and Vibrant! Lime zest, fresh green grass and minerality.

Palate: Classically Marlborough, this wine is bursting with zesty citrus and capsicum flavours tightly woven together by its juicy acidity.

Food Matching: Ideal with fresh seafood, herb and goat’s cheese crostini and sunshine!

The Ned Awards & Accolade

"Here Brent Marris, who developed Wither Hills, offers classy Marlborough sauvignon at a good price. Expect ripe gooseberry and lychee flavours, a soft, full mid-palate and a gentle finish with some lingering grassy characters." Sunday Times - Tony Love, April 2011.

"One of the worlds most popular wine types is New Zealand sauvignon blanc. These days its also one of the most maligned - all the more reason to enjoy this zesty example. It opens with a perfume of passionfruit, blackcurrant and apples. The palate has a succulent zip of tropical fruit, finishing brisk and appetising." 4.5 Stars Age - Ralph Kyte-Powell , January 2011.
