Rob Geddes MW (2010 Vintage) says
Extra oak is a positive in this wine lending structure and ageworthiness lovely savoury plum and cracked black pepper with lavish intensity showing the same flavours as the aromas. Great potential needs time to find its feet

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deep colour and brooding in character, with dark cherry, plum, black pepper and ironstone on the bouquet; the palate is densely packed with supple tannins and super-fresh acidity; the finish is extraordinarily long, pure and expansive; a little more of everything.

Tyson Stelzer (2008 Vintage) says
Paringa is home to an arsenal of shiraz that has proven capable of outgunning anything in the country on the wine show circuit, thanks to its inimitable ability to bring immense power to an inherently cool climate demeanour. 2008 exemplifies this style, a powerful and ripe Paringa, loaded with exquisite black fruits of all kinds, liquorice, violets and signature Mornington cracked black pepper. It scaffolds its exuberance in a structural framework that's nothing less than profound: seamlessly composed, finely textured, yet firm and solid tannins. Everything carries long through the finish in balanced measure, demanding considerable time to soften and relax.
