Expert Reviews

Rob Geddes MW (2004 Vintage) says
Created to celebrate the Redman centenary, this is a six-year-old wine on release from cabernet shiraz merlot with subtlety and a lot of good quality tannins and richness.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Holding excellent colour; a 100th anniversary blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and shiraz that spent 2 years in French oak before being has the regional mint and earth notes frequently encountered, and a medium- to full-bodied palate supported bu firm tannins and the expected oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2002 Vintage) says
We disagree on this. Walsh doesn't like it (he thinks it's too oak-driven), while Mattinson thinks it's lovely. The review and score are Mattinson's. This blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and merlot was grown on thirty-year-old vines and matured for two years in French oak. I thought it was awkward and odd at first, so I left my glass and went for a stroll. Came back and it was a wine transformed. Cedary, curranty, tobacco-like and immaculately medium-weight in its intensity. It has an 'old school' feel, but it's clean and balanced and lovely. See, a walk isn't just good for you; it's good for the wine too.
