Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
Lane chooses this, his favourite vineyard of the region, to shine as a single-site release. It differs from his other '09s in that it is completely destemmed and shows a dark thread of beautifully ripened plums and liquorice, wet dark stones and earth, some vanillin, plenty of hard baking spice. The palate's lithe and neatly articulated, with long, fine tannins; flavours of blood plum and dark berries run the distance, and there's attractive freshness through the finish. Will build further and impress over time.

Campbell Mattinson (2006 Vintage) says
A few years ago Australian wine started copping flack over its lack of regional identity. Hundreds of 'single vineyard' wines have since been launched - before long, it will be a criticism that is impossible to make. 2006 RELEASE Deliciously smooth, polished, complete wine. Give it an hour in the decanter to show its best - then it's a glorious medium-weight ride of cherry-plummed flavour, its background leathery-earthiness paying good homage to its region. Nice length, nice tannin and excellent balance. It is not a blockbuster, but it's super stylish. DRINK 2010-2018.
