Organic and no 'nasties' is the theme with the wines of Thistle Hill - Australia's longest established organic winery, and this shiraz offering certainly makes for some easy drinking. It's quite medium-bodied in style, and shows Ribena, pepper spice and delicate florals on the nose, along with hints of earthy savouriness. The palate is elegant and fruity, with fine, suede-like tannins, bright acidity, and a decent earthy finish.
Thistle Hill is nestled in the Cudgegong Valley on the outskirts of Mudgee, NSW. Founded in 1975, Thistle Hill is one of Australia's longest operating organic wineries.
