Tinklers Vineyard Hunter Valley Poppy's Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

Mike Bennie (2013 Vintage) says
Flinty and steely, a change from its old, creamier self in previous iterations, but not untoward, just showing that barrel ferment complexity and a pristine line of power packed tropical fruit flavour can do well without additional edifice. Good wine this.

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
This single vineyard planted on sandy loam is ideally suited to white grapes; hand-picked and whole bunch-pressed before fermentation and maturation in French oak has produced a very complex wine, with potent peach, melon and lychee fruit wreathed in smoky barrel-ferment characters.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Medium- to full-bodied; a good depth of peachy fruit and balanced oak; doesn't show the alcohol.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Relatively tight and restrained, though there is considerable length and intensity to the palate; a mix of barrel ferment and lees on melon/fig/stone fruit; good length.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Well made; a fusion of stone fruit and gentle French oak; light to medium-bodied, and glides across the tongue.
