Tisdall Wines Henry's Crossing Merlot

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Goulburn Valley where Tisdall hales from is a bit of an unsung hero in the wine business but with the likes of Tahbilk and Mitchelton in the region you can be sure that this is a home to quality Australian wine. This Merlot is everything I like in a Merlot – soft, supple plummy fruit flavour, fleshy and generous without quite the rush of intense fruit normally found in Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. A pasta wine if ever there was one.

Winemaker's Notes

Merlot usually plays a support role with Cabernet, but occasionally provides a wine with elegant flesh and weight that is to be savoured. The 2009 Vintage is a wine of this calibre with lifted plums and cassis aromas and flavours giving this wine an instant appeal and drinkability. Soft supple tannins play a support role and help to give balance and poise. A wine for any occasion.
