Tollana Botrytis Riesling

Expert Reviews

Max Allen & Peter Forrestal (1998 Vintage) says
Botrytis-affected riesling differs in style from botrytis-affected semillon (see above), and tends to be more aromatic, perfumed, zingy and lingering. This already three-year-old wine is really begging to be drunk now: it has a glowing, yellow-gold colour, an unnervingly direct, lifted, intensely aromatic smell (flowers, spice, grapes) and a richly sweet, citrus-syrupy flavour.

James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Glowing yellow; intense lime and mandarin aromas, botrytised riesling at its best, and still retaining varietal character. A marvellously rich and complex wine on the palate with the same flavours, and very well-balanced acid. In my view, these wines should be released and sold earlier than has been the practice to date.
