Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Light to medium red-purple, better than many Ô11s; the fragrant bouquet has an unusual array of cinnamon spice and charcuterie aromas, the palate following on with greater intensity than most from southern Vic in Õ11, its red and black small berry fruits showing no hint of unripeness, just that foresty/sauvage grip that is Tomboy HillÕs mark.

Bright, clear colour; a most attractive pinot, with a highly expressive and pure bouquet, and a spotlessly clean, well-balanced palate driven by red berry, plum and spice fruit, oak precisely handled.

Bright purple hue; a spotlessly clean bouquet is followed by a very savoury/briary/stemmy palate that needs more ripe fruit components; does have serious length.

Good hue; notes of spice, stem and oak on the bouquet; a particularly intense, spicy savoury palate, the varietal fruits at its heart.

Excellent hue, still purple-tinged; an aromatic bouquet with spicy/flowery red fruit; lovely balance and mouthfeel, with a perfectly presented array of cherry and plum fruit, silky tannins and discreet oak.
