Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
A forward style, already drinking well, the 1998 vintage is a blend of Waipara (North Canterbury) and "Canterbury" (i.e. Mid Canterbury) fruit. It's a warm, smooth wine with full, bright colour, ripe cherry/spice aromas and good depth of rounded, moderately complex, gently oaked flavour.

Michael Cooper (1995 Vintage) says
"South Island", for the 1995 vintage means a blend of 80 per cent Marlborough and 20 per cent Canterbury fruit, oak-aged for a year. Crisp and full-bodied, it slightly lacks warmth and roundness, but still offers good depth of fresh, raspberryish flavour and a touch of savoury complexity. A solid wine, approaching its peak.
