Torzi Matthews Vintners Schist Rock Shiraz

Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says
A striking nose to this Eden Valley shiraz: smells very spicy and full of chocolate, some red fruits and lighter plum notes, blackberry and raspberry jam. The palate's more in the red-fruit spectrum, with raspberry, blackcurrant fruit pastille and a lithe, juicy finish, with tannins buried in bright fruit flavour.

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2008 Vintage) says
It was last year's top red under $20 - and this 2008 is very nearly as good. As with last year, the main problem will be finding bottles of it (it will sell out fast). We're not sure how they do this quality at this price, but take advantage of it while it lasts. This year's release is incredibly perfumed and substantial, with notes of violets and blackberries, spice and smoke. It has juiciness and weight, a touch too much acid, but so much sweet, fragrant fruit flavour that no one will be complaining. Easily one of the year's stars.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Dark fruits with a mix of dark chocolate and mocha; good balance, with fine but gently savoury tannins; great value.
