Hailing from the Great Southern region of W.A, this is a wine that punches above it's price point, and will cellar for a few years to be a gift that keeps on giving. Aromas of red berries and dark cherries waft out of the glass, along with hints of pepper spice, star anise and choc-mint. The palate is medium to fuller-bodied, with mouth-filling flavours of spiced cherries and plums, fine and tight tannins, and a fruity, toasty finish that wraps itself around the tonsils. Excellent with rich meat dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Deep rich purple.

Nose: Rich aromas of ripe plum and , mocha.

Palate: Initial flavours of ripe plum , plus ripe mulberry lead to a rich mid palate of ripe berries. The wine finishes with fine long tannins and the toasty spice of premium French oak barriques.

Cellaring: 10 years and beyond.

Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet and light-to medium-bodied palate present a flowing bowl of red and black cherry, spice, licorice, mocha/chocolate and fine-grained tannins before a juicy aftertaste. It all works very well.

Wonderful ripe Satsuma plum and savoury chocolate characters on the nose. There's a sprinkling of cinnamon and blackberry as well. The palate is opulent and generous with supple rupe tannins supporting the rich fruit. Lush and dense with good concentration through to the finish.

Plenty happening in here with a mix of spices and dark chocolate plus a good lick or two of licorice. The palate displays a tight savoury character. The fine grained oak has wrapped this up in a bear hug and it will take a few years to fully release. Decant first before drinking at this stage.

The shiraz from here have been very good in the past and this is another very good wine. Plum and spicy leather earthy characters on the nose with even a trace of mint. The rich and powerful palate is supported by ripe tannins and ample oak. It's a big and bold shiraz that will cellar for a number of years. Release in January 2010.
