Made by Kahurangi Estate from fruit sourced out of Nelson, this bonny, fruit-driven pinot noir shows scents of red berries and dark cherries on the nose, with flutters of earthy, foresty notes. The palate is medium-bodied and spicy with more berry fruits, licks of savouriness, fine tannins and a light, fruity finish. It would go well with what else but a nice grilled whole trout!

Clear ruby red with a rich cigar box noise complemented by a spicy strawberry palate and a long elegant finish.

Reviews and Accolades:

This 2012 pinot noir has 13.5 per cent alcohol and is ruby red in the glass. The nose has bouquet gami aromas and the front of the palate brings forth spicy cherry flavour. Fruit characters of raspberry, basil and capers meld with toasty oak nuances and the finish shows ferric tannins.

Fairly subdued on the nose, with red and dark berry fruits, some sappy, undergrowth notes and a raft of deep spice. Nice fruit detail on the palate, which flows to an energetic finish studded with spice, game and light, smoky oak.
