James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Redolent with luscious blackberry and plum fruit; ripe tannins, subtle oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2005 2004
James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Strong red-purple; attractive black cherry and plum fruit, with well-integrated oak on the bouquet, leads into a smooth, medium-bodied palate with dark fruits and a touch of mint; fine, savoury tannins give the wine texture and balance. Picked at 12.8° baume, as opposed to the 12.4 of the Bin 262. Matured in French and American oak.

Ray Jordan (2001 Vintage) says
Plenty of fruit, but at the moment the oak is just a little dominant. Shows ripe rich red berry flavours with some savory flavours. Chewy tannins and oak fill the substantial palate. This is a promising wine
