TW Makauri Red Blend

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2004 Vintage) says
Oak-matured for 18 months, the 2004 vintage is a 50/50 blend of Merlot and Malbec, named after the Makauri district in Gisborne. Dark, with a fresh, spicy bouquet, it is sturdy, plummy, spicy and supple, in a moderately complex style, vibrant and flavoursome.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The vibrantly fruity 2002 vintage is a blend of Malbec (two-thirds) and Merlot, named after the Makauri district in Gisborne. Purple-flushed, with a sweet oak perfume, it's a ripe-tasting wine with rich berry, plum and dark chocolate flavours, firm tannins and substantial body.
