Ray Jordan (2009 Vintage) says
Rich and multi-layered chardonnay showing lots of toasty vibrant fruit flavours with a penetrating long minerally line. It's loaded with brioche and creamy stone fruit with a lift of citrus and grapefruit. Very intense and powerful wine with a lingering palate. Another outstanding wine from this small producer.

Impressive chardonnay here. Bouquet shows that lovely mix of morning brioche and citrus with a subtle fusion of roasted nuts. The palate is seamlessly textured and multi-layered. Balanced oak and fruit with a precise and long finish. Crisp minerality sustains it.

A very oaky bouquet, with grapefruit and straw on offer; the palate is fresh and lively with good acidity and drive; the oak dominates, and hopefully time will see it integrate with the generous level of fruit.

This is a very good follow-up to the exceptional 2006. The vintage is quite different yet the wine retains a common thread. It's complex and displays excellent fruit intensity. The oak is well weight with a slightly creamy cedar and light brioche character. Excellent texture and fruit weight. Lovely wine for the next few years.

Highly fragrant nectarine and grapefruit aromas and flavours; strongly fruit-driven, but not simple; excellent length.

We pronounce Umamu as if we are thirty-stone sumos, which provokes much mirth. Mr Dukes (no relation) came from Pierro to Umamu and his impeccable credentials are already falling into place. Brand new to us,Umamu has gone straight in to our hit list of Margaret River wines to covet, thanks to its spicy fig flavours and concentrated fruit and oak balance. It was very satisfying for Mr Jukes (yes, the one on the cover), all the way from London, to introduce this wine to Mr Stelzer. This foreign exchange very rarely happens.

This cool vintage was absolutely perfect for Chardonnay; this one is a beauty. Crisp and tight with a strong grapefruit and mineral thread running the length of a very long palate. Superb palate texture with real persistence. A finer style and thoroughly beautiful.
