Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2012 Vintage) says
Very restrained and alluring, deeply perfumed and floral, with spicy aromas of peach blossom and apricot backed by musky notes of clove and cinnamon. It?s textured and slightly viscous, but remains tightly focused and reserved, as transulcent flavours of stonefruit, pear and citrus fruits extend long and gentle towards a soft, savoury and lingering finish.

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
An intriguing mix of waxy notes, some herbs, elderflower and gingery elements, lemon citrus and crab-apples. The palate delivers bright and succinct fruit impact, pears and apricots to the fore here, and some gently nutty notes through the finish.

Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
Very complex, restrained and reserved, with a heady, musky and floral bouquet of apricot, melon and bathpowder backed by notes of minerals, black tea leaves, cloves and cinnamon. It's moderately viscous, sumptuous and creamy, but retains a fineness and measured balance down the palate towards its long, savoury and faintly meaty finish. Varietally correct, complex and finely crafted.

Pale green-straw; apparently barrel-fermented in used oak; it has complex aromas and-in particular-flavours, with spicy/savoury nuances to the apricot and peach fruit; good length and balance.

I have to admit, the jury's still out for me when it comes to white wine in Heathcote. This has a nutty apricot-kernel aroma, yeasty notes, and some attractive saffron spice. In the mouth, its smoothly textured, low-acid style means it slips through with creamy apricot and pear flavour.
