This lighter-bodied, cheeky red is perfect for Summer drinking - and you can even put a slight chill on it. Made from Gamay (a cousin to pinot noir), it shows bright red berries and rose florals on the nose, with a hint of white pepper for added interest. The palate is light to medium-bodied, with smooth, juicy berry flavours, soft tannins, and a dry, cherry-like finish. It's very versatile with food suiting everything from poached salmon to duck pancakes. 

Winemaker's Notes

This wine is blended from several selected sites including our family vineyards at Dixons Creek and Tarrawarra. Traditional winemaking including hand picking, the addition of whole bunches and minimal plunging has resulted in a Pinot Noir that is perfumed, plump and detailed. 

Gently aromatic, good Pinosity, structured with softness and elegance. Great with meat ragu and gnocchi.

Medium to full red-purple; gamay noir is simply gamay, the grape that makes Beaujolais-in similar style to this. The rounded mouthful (and mouthfeel) of polished black cherries, with a passing hint of stem and a dry finish, is right on the money.
