Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
This is a brave and bold move: launching a new pinot noir at this price point, from a vintage that has been made famous for immense difficulty and unlikely success. It pours out pale in the glass, light cherry red in colour, and makes an initial impression of just-ripe cherry aromas, light spice, a little bramble and some leafy nuances. The palate s brimming with acidity, really fine tannins fan out evenly and the flavours are tart red cherry, a little musky note, nutty tannin and gentle oak spice. Acidity is the key to this wine _ it s both bright and juicy, the palate arcs upwards, lifting through the middle, and it should develop well. As to the price tag? Well, with just 501 bottles filled, it may not be much of an issue.
