James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Relatively deep colour, with good hue; dark berry fruits are quickly taken hostage by astringent, dry tannins.
Australian Wine Companion 2012 2011
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Light red-purple; the cool climate is obvious enough, and infuses the wine with cedary/briary notes along with a layer of mint; somewhat dry tannins.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the fragrant bouquet offers spicy fruit with a touch of mint together with smoky/cigar box oak. The palate has red berry, cherry and mint flavours which are much less dense than the barrel sample previously tasted. All in all, shows the low alcohol of 11.3 degrees

James Halliday (1995 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; the bouquet is fragrant, of moderate intensity, with cedar, cigar box, leaf and spice aromas. The palate is fine and elegant, with leaf, mint and spice flavours underlying the red cherry/berry fruit; fine-grained tannins on a delicate but long finish.
