Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Voyager wines continue to be some of the finest in the Margaret River region and the blend of Sauvignon and Semillon one of their most popular offerings. There’s nothing like a chilled glass of this aromatic white with some fresh prawns and aioli. Vibrant with grapefruit and passion fruit flavours that surge across the palate delivering refreshment and crisp, cleansing acids.

Voyager Estate Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
Bright, fruit-focused and crystalline aromas of melon, lemon and white peach with a hint of passionfruit reveal just a whiff of herbaceousness. It's long and smooth, with a brightly lit but restrained expression of tropical, melon-like flavour backed by a trace of smoky oak, supported by a fine, dusty chassis and wrapped in a fresh, but soft acidity.

Consistency is the key to Voyager and this wine provides freshness and texture, showing the ripe nature of the '11 vintage; fresh and vibrant on the one hand and fleshy and textural on the other.

A slightly mealy wine that has savoury marzipan across some ripe lemon and apple fruits, slight grassy aromas and a dark-leaf herb edge too. The palate s assertively phrased, with crisp citrus and melon fruit flavour, and acidity rules the ride, driving the finish long and clean.

Pungent aromas - all gooseberries and asparagus - and a palate that has good length of delicate green flavours with fresh, crunchy acidity.

Punchy, brightly flavoured and typically herbaceous, with penetrative nettle-like aromas of fresh lychees, gooseberries and cassis with undertones of passionfruit and dried herbs. Smooth and juicy, with a pristine, vibrant fruitfulness, it's long and fluffy with a fine, chalky spine and a bright, lively acidity.

One very bright and fresh classic white blend that offers the best of both worlds: semillon's lemon citrus plays nicely against the more tropical and expressive sauvignon fruits. The palate's nicely shaped with tropical melon, passionfruit, apple, pear and more. Neat balance - Drink young.
