Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
The rare (95 cases) 2003 vintage was hand-harvested at 25.2 brix in Renat Nussbaumer's sloping clay vineyard on the Kina Peninsula in Tasman Bay, Nelson. Fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, new and seasoned, it was lees-aged for nine months, with some malolactic fermentation. It's a strapping wine (15 per cent alcohol) with a minerally, toasty, complex bouquet. Concentrated, with citrusy, peachy, mealy flavours and a slightly creamy texture, it should be long-lived.
