The Gris that is emerging from across the ditch is really starting to impress and if you’ve not tried it yet, let us suggest you do. Gris rather than Grigio means stylistically it’s a fuller more rounded and textural white that needs food. It’s varietal with aromas of apple and pear and some subtle spice before a mouth-filling palate of pear and melon fruit. It finishes long and deserves to be served with pan-fried fish or grilled haloumi and chargrilled vegetables.

Winemaker's Notes

Delicate spring flowers, pear and fresh hay aromas lead to a rich and oily textured palate. Bursts of pear and white peach flavours are followed with fresh, balanced acidity. Serve with roasted pork or Asian inspired dishes.

From New Zealand, where this variety does rather well. Strikes with an immediately complex array of aromas with ginger and apricot plus some grassiness and a little quince past richness. The palate is textured and rich with lavish flavours supported by a crisp aid. The creamy stone fruit flavours extend to a long finish.
