Waipara Hills Waipara Pinot Noir

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Complexity and character are the two things that Waipara Hills look for in all their wines. It’s certainly evident in this perky Pinot Noir that exudes immediate appeal. If you wanted to complement the classic Chinese barbecue duck then this is the wine to sling at the table. Enjoy its aromatic nose of plums and dark cherries and seductive spiciness. As is the norm with the variety it’s soft and supple with earthy notes, dark fruits and spice on the lingering palate.

Palate: A soft and silky beginning leads to a full, rich and structured palate with dark red fruits, dried spice and leather characters that linger and linger.

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Seductively scented and supple, very graceful. Ruby-hued, with strong, fresh cherry and plum flavours, deft oak handling adding a savoury, nutty complexity, and gentle tannins. Floral, ÔfeminineÕ style with considerable cellaring potential.
WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011) 2011
Michael Cooper (2009 Vintage) says
The 2009 vintage partly oak-aged, is ruby-hued, with buoyantly fruity flavours of plums and spices, woven with Fresh acidity, and some savoury complexity.
