Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2010 Vintage) says
Light gold, the 2010 vintage is a finely balanced, rich Marlborough wine with ripe peach, apricot and honey flavours, abundant sweetness (215 grams/litre of residual sugar) and good acid spine. Oily-textured, with impressive depth, it's a drink-now or cellaring proposition.

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
Still on the market in 2004, the 1999 vintage of this Marlborough wine is maturing gracefully. Made from hand-selected, nobly rotten berries, it was matured for 20 months in French oak casks and then bottle-aged prior to release. Light gold, it is crisp and sweet, with a rich, honeyed botrytis influence and impressive depth and harmony.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Glowing yellow-green; a very intense bouquet with strong botrytis influence, the aromas primarily of cumquat, apricot and lime. The palate is much tighter than the bouquet Ñ a thoroughly good thing Ñ with more lime juice coming through on a long, lingering, intense finish.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium to full yellow-green; the bouquet is flooded with exceptionally intense lime and cumquat aromas, the palate gorgeously rich, melting and totally seductive, with a mix of cumquat, honey, acidity and lime all coalescing.
