Wandin Valley Estate Bridie's Reserve Shiraz

Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
Fine, silky and elegant, with a polished, spicy bouquet of blackberries, raspberries and sweet plums knit with chocolate/cedar oak and backed by suggestions of briar. It's very smooth and juicy, but its initial presence of vibrant dark fruit thins out towards a leaner, faintly baked finish of prune and currant-like flavour.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
Meaty, earthy and herbal, this rather developed and early drinking shiraz has a leathery bouquet and a forward, smooth and slightly baked palate whose jammy, lightly spicy berry and plum fruit is supported by sweet oak. Lacking great length, it's soft and approachable but lacks genuine focus.

WINESTATE (2006 Vintage) says
An attractive, mid-weight wine with gentle stone-fruit fragrances, spicy chocolate/licorice flavours and a chewy, tannic finish. 3-5

Jeremy Oliver (2005 Vintage) says
Meaty, gamey and evolving, this firmish and rather drying and astringent shiraz reveals slightly cooked flavours of plums, blueberries and blackberries with green-edged undertones. An old-fashioned style, revealing hints of under and over-ripeness, it's firm, leathery and just lacking a little genuine finesse.

Jeremy Oliver (2004 Vintage) says
A typical older-style Hunter shiraz whose meaty, leathery and earthy expression of dark berry and plum-like shiraz is tightly crafted into a fine, supple and silky wine with very restrained vanilla oak and a delightful lingering sour edge to the fruit. It's very perfumed spicy long and supple, with plenty of rustic character.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Light to medium-bodied; spicy, earthy undertones to sweet red fruits; fragrant, early drinking.
